Happy New Year everyone!
As the saying goes, 'a new year, a new start', or, 'good god, it's just another freaking year, what the hell is the big deal anyways?!' Whatever it is that you feel about the New Year, let's all hope that we survive this one.
Normally, I would list out New Year resolutions on my blog and then forget about them in three weeks time. Listing out my bad attributes which can be improved can be some serious fun. But this time I'll try to keep up with my resolutions because this is really going to be the beginning of a new start for me (yes, shoot me now for being so corny). I'm no longer in school. I'll be (hopefully) heading off overseas in a few months. So here's my chance to make full use of the remaining months doing as much as I can in Brunei and, hopefully (or finally), grow up.
1. Be less dependent on others
Obviously being the youngest of four daughters I have a tendency to whine and complain and be super damn clingy. Nuff' said about that. I'm totally going to be independent now. ROAR!
2. Be nicer to people I'm not familiar with
I tend to snub people I know but aren't good friends with. Ironically, I'm totally friendly to complete stangers. I shall now smile so damn much that I'll pull a face muscle.
3. Be less picky with food and eat more
Well, this isn't anything new. Last time I checked, I still weigh 39.5 kg. Darn it.
4. Stop being such a drama queen
Don't we all?
5. Engage in more productive activities
Since the A Level exams ended, all I've been doing is eat, sleep, watch TV and online. A formula I'm sure a lot of us are quite familiar with. I might just go back to dancing, take up some sport or something, go back to running, or (at least) get my arse out of the house.
6. Learn to cook
Refer to point 3.
7. Learn to do housechores
After my maid took a holiday a few months back, I'm already halfway towards domestication, haha. I just need to learn a million more things, then I can host my own talk show about homemaking.
8. Go to Miri more often
Yes, yes, I'll make an effort now, Miri sister. Then I'll see Emma-dora more, and future 'have-you-eaten-yet'.
9. Concentrate while driving
When you hear a scraping sound while parking, you're TOO CLOSE to the curb! I totally have to get that in my head.
10. Be more eccentric
This one is for Lu Wee. Why should we care if people think we're weird? They just aren't weird enough for us. They can just suck up all that peer pressure while we gloat in our individuality, haha.
Ten should be enough, I'll leave the rest for next year. I don't want to end up too perfect.
