YAY!
I passed my driving test! Finally, after almost three months, after sixteen hours of lesson, I can finally be a real eighteen year old, haha!
So happy.
I was kind of worried because during each hour of my lesson I always get something wrong. I can never get up the hill on the first go, I CAN'T press the button and pull down the handbrake (I always have to use two hands), I hit the pole during parking (but it only fell down twice).
The whole test thing was so silly. As you know, I can be a really blur person when it comes to talking to older people who only want to converse with you in Malay. Basically, the whole place is confusing!!!
I went to my parking fist and my teacher was there to scold me because I drove past the line (it was different from the one at the stadium), but after that tiny mistake the parking was totally alright.
Then I have to park in front of their office and wait for the officer. At first I parked in front of the door, then the officer told me to park on the left, closer to the exit, a few spaces away. When I did, my teacher scolded me again! She was like, 'WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! WHY ARE YOU PARKING HERE NOW?!'
I'm like halfway to tears and pointed, 'He asked me to park here...'
'WHO? The pegawai asked you to park here?!'
'Yes...' *shows watery puppy dog eyes*
'OHK!'
Hmph!!!
And I didn't like the officer who was testing me. He was talking, and you know how some people have the tendency to talk to themselves or talk to someone else but look at you, so I thought he wasn't talking to me. Then when I realised he was talking to me, he was like, 'Aku cakap sama kau, bukan sama tiang!'
I'm like halfway to tears, 'Oh, sorry, I didn't hear you...'
So basically, my driving test wasn't starting off well.
Then it came to the difficult part, the hill! I went up, then pulled the handbrake with all my might. I let go of the brake hoping that the car wouldn't move, but it did. So I had to pull the handbrake up again, this time I pulled with two hands (Note to self: Must eat more!). Then the car didn't move. Now time for the balancing. The first attempt was a failure. The car moved back so I had to pull the handbrake again. The second time was almost perfect! The car didn't go back so it was good, and it went forward slowly, but luckily there weren't a lot of cars so I went on to the road smoothly.
HURRAY, part 2 done! And I didn't panic at all.
Now the next hardest part was the roundabout. So before reaching the roundabout I put the gear to free, but then the cars in front were moving faster so I tried to move the gear back to one. But the gear wouldn't move to one and the car was moving too slow. So I was panicking. I was already pressing the clutch pedal fully but the gear still wouldn't move to one. I cried out, 'Er, the gear won't go to one!'
Then the officer was saying, 'Press the clutch.'
And I'm like, 'Already... it still won't move!'
Then when the car came to a halt I could move the gear to one. It was only after the test that I remembered that I could only move the gear back to one AFTER the car stopped completely.
But anyways, the hell with all those things because I don't need them anymore! We only have auto cars at home, haha.
YAY! I passed.
I can DRIVE!
YAY!
SO HAPPY!
Anyways, I haven't been updating because I've been busy. There's exams coming up in one month and one day. First one is Math. School work has been piling up, and my hopes to do extra essays won't be happening because I haven't done any of the homework that were given for our term holiday two weeks ago. I've also been busy with university applications. They are so not as easy as they look. I've been stressed out over them because of all the deadlines, and the college's Careers Department is not well known for its efficiency or friendliness.
After the school holidays, I went to the Careers Department on Monday to ask for information on Chinese universities. I was directed to the Head Honcho, Cikgu Mashayu. She asked me to come back two days later, Wednesday, because she stuffed them in some unknown place and had to look for them. So I went back in today, because I was busy with other applications for the time in between, and I thought I'd give her more time as well. Then when I asked in the morning, she told me to wait while she finish labelling the new reference books. So I was being understanding and just waited. Luckily, Fifah, Fifah and Helwa (yes, two Fifahs) were there as well so I had company. Forty five minutes passed and it was time for the next class and no news from Ckg Mashayu. So I went to look for her and she totally FORGOT about me. She was doing her own work and I thought it was important, urgent or something that had to come first. Turns out she forgot about me. So she was looking around her messy office (it really is messy), and told me to come back later. So being the understading person that I am, I came back later. When I did, there were other student there talking to her. She told me to come back on Monday because they were more important than me! Not exactly in those words, but it was implied. So I'll be going back on Monday, eight o'clock on the dot. Sigh...
It's my mommy's birthday tomorrow!! And it's special because it's her retirement age. As of today she is officially retired. I got her a bottle of Ralph Lauren perfume and some hair accessories (you might have read previously that my mom used to steal my hair accessories and use them in plain sight). Mom and dad will be going to Miri later to celebrate with my adorable niece, Emma-dora. I'll be at home because I've still have lots of work to do. Exams is only a month away. And the study leave will start in two weeks. So have to do lots of work to be checked by the teacher by then.
Also becaus Sebas will be leaving on Tuesday. So I'll have to spend lotsa lotsa time with him these few remaining days. I can get my license on Tuesday and I can force him to let me drive him around during the afternoon. And when I say drive around, I mean not going past the Simpang, haha.
When I do get my license on Tuesday, I still won't be able to drive out alone. I'll be driving under parental observation for a few weeks, might even be months. My dad is going to make me his driver. But who cares, as long as I get to drive!
And that, my dear readers, that is basically my busy life.
One last anecdote to end this entry. When I went back to Sociology class after my driving test, Mr Simmonds asked me, 'So what happened? Did you blow it?' He then implied that I bribed the officer to let me pass because that is what he did for his driving test (probably fifty years ago), haha.
