The maid went back a few days ago and she will be gone for two whole months.
The evil ironing forces must be freaking playing with me. Of all the things to burn through on the first day of the new school term, I had to burn the one most visible item of clothing, the tudong.
And it wasn't as if I could fold it in another way so the hole is on the inside of the tudong. I burnt it DEAD CENTRE.
Luckily I had a spare to wear this morning. I found another one in the closet which I can wear tomorrow (belonged to my sister). And my mom even bought a new one just in case.
So tragedy avoided, lesson learnt.
I can never be a maid/ housewife/ housework talk show host/ professional ironer/ laundry washer.
